A THIRD SPACE... Future Jobs Fund has also made it possible for Mayhem to recruit two researchers who have recently launched Mayhem’s first Think Tank: A THIRD SPACE.
The aim of our project is to investigate the benefits of out-of-school provision, specifically in its power to increase social mobility. We will examine the social and economic benefits of these activities, exemplary methods of delivery and how providers should approach the future, particularly in light of recent political developments.
While using the work of political and social theorists and quantative and qualitative studies as our base, we are also conducting primary research in the form of case studies. Concentrating on youth drama and arts organisations, we will visit out-of-school groups in order to engage with the thoughts and experiences of both those delivering provision and the young people who enjoy it.
